About the project
For this software company, fabric-wrapped acoustic panels on the walls were combined with floating acoustic panels on the ceiling. Together they cut the echo and noise in the work areas and leave the office steadier and more comfortable. Colours from the company's own palette were used, and slatted details between the panels give the surfaces movement. Treating the walls and the ceiling together made the acoustics stronger and gave the office an interior with a character of its own.

Echo and noise came from both the horizontal and the vertical surfaces of the office, working against people's concentration, and the acoustics were uneven across the floor. The open-plan layout put several kinds of work area side by side, which made sound harder to control; the space also needed a design language that carried the company's identity.
Our solution
Fabric-wrapped panels on the walls and floating panels on the ceiling were used together as one acoustic scheme. Between them they brought echo and noise under control and left the acoustics steadier and more comfortable. The company's own colours were built into the design, and slatted details between the panels gave the surfaces movement and depth. Treating walls and ceiling as one piece of work raised the acoustic performance and produced a coherent interior.

The design language gives it a contemporary, energetic look that carries the company's identity. Acoustic performance and design were integrated rather than traded off.
