About the project
For this software company, hexagonal fabric-wrapped acoustic panels were fitted to the walls to improve the acoustics of the office and give the space a livelier character. The absorbent core cuts the echo and noise that build up in open-plan areas and makes the office a steadier place to work. The panels were carried through the open-plan floor, the meeting rooms and the individual work areas, so the acoustics and the design hold together across the whole office. The hexagonal geometry gives the walls movement, and the colours were taken from the company's own palette so the scheme reads as theirs.
Zorluk
The open-plan layout produced enough noise and echo to work against people's concentration, and the space lacked visual character. With several different kinds of work area sharing one floor, the job was to get the acoustics right and to find one design language that held across all of them.
Our solution
Hexagonal fabric-wrapped acoustic panels were fitted to the walls. The high-performance absorbent core brought echo and noise under control and steadied the acoustics. The treatment was continued through the open-plan floor, the meeting rooms and the individual work areas so the improvement is consistent everywhere. The hexagonal geometry gave the walls movement, and the palette was built from the company's own colours.

Results
People hold their focus longer and get more done, conversations are easier to follow, and the office is a more comfortable place to be. The geometric language gives it a contemporary look that carries the company's identity. Acoustic performance and design were integrated rather than balanced against each other.
